Kevin Cloud, PGA
Head Golf Professional
Kevin has been a golf instructor for 18 years. A PGA member since 2004, was awarded the 2014 Connecticut Section Player Development award for his efforts in developing golfers of every level. He was also recognized as a Top 50 Kids Golf Teacher in 2012 by US Kids Golf Foundation.
Throughout his career, Kevin strives to increase the enjoyment of every golfer that seeks him out for a lesson, golf advice, club fitting, and to play more golf. His role at Goodwin Park Golf Course allows him to interact with golfers of every level and provide a complete approach to golf improvement. He is certified as a TPI Golf Coach level 2, a US Kids Golf Certified Instructor, SPi Certified from SeeMore putters. Kevin is club fitting certified with Titleist and Tour Edge/ Exotics.
Director of Instruction
Jim is entering his 47th year as a Golf Professional. He spent time as a Head Golf Professional in Connecticut, Texas, and Minnesota. Throughout his career, he has helped thousands of adults and kids learn the game of golf. Jim’s philosophy stresses learning the basic fundamentals and examining the cause and effect of each students golf game.
Jim has helped 11 junior golfers obtain college scholarships around the country. Goodwin Park Golf Course has been very fortunate to have Jim teach many golfers since 2001. Professionally Jim has won over 60 golf tournaments throughout the United States.
Arccos Golf Tracking System
The Arccos system will track each shot hit in each round a student plays. The golf coach and student will periodically review round performance to ensure that the instruction and development that has occurred in the practice area is transferring to the golf course. The system pairs easily with an i-phone to track each shot without the need to change a players routine. For students with an android phone Game Golf is a highly recommended alternative.
MySwing Biometric Feedback
The MySwing system analyzes full body 3D motion and measures the rotational speed of the body to prevent injury,MySwing ad improve performance, and shorten the learning process. A great technique is to capture swings immediately following a great round. This way if a player is struggling, we can compare the great day swings to the current swing and examine why there are differences. MySwing has a shared database of every swing made using the MySwing system. This database will allow our coaches to compare your measured variables with others of your level, or another level of player.
SAM PuttlabScience and Motion has developed the PuttLab which provides scientifically precise feedback on all relevant parameters of your putting stroke. With comparisons of over 100 tour professionals, your putting ability can be analyzed and improved to tour-like levels.
